Academy Award for Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay)

What did you think of Geoffrey Shawn Fletcher's win? Monique's?

I watched the Oscars anxiously Sunday night. I was hoping they’d announce the winner of the best writing award before my bedtime, 9:30pm. I never watch the Oscars, and if it were not for Geoffrey Shawn Fletcher and Monique, I probably wouldn’t have watched. I enjoyed watching them win. I talked to Z about it.

K: The first black person to ever win for best adapted screenplay won last night. His name is Fletcher.
Z: What? All those good black movies we’ve had and this guy’s the first? What took ‘em so long?

Z went back to his room and K went back to the recliner where she was reading Angela Johnson’s Sweet, Hereafter. The case was closed, so to speak.
