Underground by Shane W. Evans

Illustrations and color, yellow especially, are used to tell the story of a group of people moving from slavery to freedom on the Underground Railroad. The setting is a dark, starry night and a family stands outside a house with a yellow light filling a window pane. By the time the book ends, the sun is shining brightly and the people are free.

When you get a chance, skim this book and look at how the eyes say more than the words do.
