Happyface

Za’id and I are reading Happyface by Stephen Emond. We don’t have to share it because we both got advanced reader copies (ARC) at NCTE on Sunday. Yeah! Happy Face will be published by Little Brown & Co. in March of 2010. When I picked it up out of the pile of ARCs I brought home from the conference, I told Z it looked like something Wimpy Kid fans would like. Then, sure enough when I read the back, I saw the book was being touted as the title for Wimpy Kid fans turned young adult. It was a done deal when Z heard that. He grabbed the book and read it for hours before finally falling asleep. Curious, I started my copy (even though I’m really supposed to be reading about Gee’s Bend right now.) and laughed out loud. Too bad I missed his talk at NCTE.
