Lemonade by Bob Raczka

This book introduces a great word game combined with poetry. The author says he was inspired by Andrew Russ’s work. You take one word and make a poem out of it, a type of concrete poem. It looks odd because each letter is staggered underneath the letter from the word, so that one or two letters from the words in the poem might not share the same line.

There are bright illustrations throughout the book and if you can’t crack the word puzzle, the author gives you the answer on the back of the page.

My favorite poem in this collection is “Creative”.
