Collaborative Writing at the Summer Institute

At the Summer Institute, Eddie asked us to write a collaborative poem. The whole idea was to throw sense (as in this doesn’t make sense) out the window.

*We wrote a line and passed it on to 6 other people who also wrote lines. This is how my poem developed:

Love lost, loss, found and gone again.
Loss, coming and going in the wind.
A leaf blowing with the wind.
A tree standing firm, big, strong,
Clouds drifting, clouds fading
Fading dreams, drifting away,
Destiny found.

*Our writing during the institute isn't perfect; our point is to exercise. We see our activities as an opportunity to practice, and we feel successful whether the writing works well or not. Success is simply showing up to write something. We did a collaborative prose assignment too.
