Audio Teaser in the Classroom

According to Melissa Hart of The Writer, Audio Teasers are “six- to eight-minute fiction and nonfiction excerpts, recorded by professionals…at Chapter & Voice.”
Audio teasers could be used like booktalks that teachers and librarians give.
Students could create their own audio teaser.

What if students were asked to choose a meaningful passage and read it into a digital recording device? The teasers could be used in lieu of bookreports.
This could address oral language and technology related standards and even give a nod toward interpretation.

Are teachers already doing this?
