James Patterson on Finding Books for Our Children

It was interesting to see this news clip of James Patterson talking about the parent’s responsibility to find materials for their children to read, especially after I’ve done several blogs about my struggle to accomplish this.

Do you agree with this statement?

Patterson says “It’s their [parents’] job, not the school’s job to find books that their kids are going to like; it’s not the school’s job.”

Please take a look at the article and news clip and let me know what you think. What does such a statement mean for/to parents? For teachers? To Librarians?

By the way, Z highly recommends Patterson’s Maximum Ride series.
